Welcome to Tech Corner
Digital technologies have been assisting people who are blind and visually impaired for the past 40 years. Special-purpose devices include magnifiers, money scanners, color sensors and book readers, and in the past several years mainstream devices such as smartphones, tablets and PCs have become highly accessible and useful to the blind and low vision community.
NHAB's Tech Corner is a series of articles on technology topics of interest to those who are blind and visually impaired. The goal of Tech Corner is to increase awareness about technology solutions and assist readers to get more information.
This first Tech Corner article focuses on smartphones (such as the Apple iPhone) along with related applications and considerations for getting started.
